Chandigarh, June 19, 2013: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa today talked to Uttrakhand Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Bahuguna over phone and inquired about the rescue operation being carried to evacuate standed pilgrims from Punjab and other states.
Mr.Bajwa requested Mr.Bahuguna to expedite the rescue operation and informed him that hundreds of Sikh pilgrims from Punjab were trapped in the hills. He said that Mr.Bahuguna has assured him that all possible steps were being taken to evacuate stranded pilgrims.
Mr.Bajwa prayed for the safety of stranded pilgrims and said that center government was extending full help to the Uttrakhand government. He assured the relatives of pilgrims from Punjab that all pilgrims are safe and efforts are being made to rescue them at an earliest.
