Chandigarh, January 11, 2013: A high level team from Punjab today arrived in Gandhinagar to showcase state as new land of opportunities in the sixth edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit that began at Gujarat's state capital Gandhinagartoday. It is worth mentioning that Punjab was participating in Vibrant Gujarat for the first time in 12 years.
Disclosing this here today the spokesman of the Punjab government said that a high level delegation of senior officers from the State Government of Punjab including the Department of Industries & Commerce, Power, PEDA, Agro, and GMADA led by Mr Karan Avtar Singh, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce is participating in the event to interact with the potential investors.
He further said that the event provides enormous prospects to the State to display its strengths, progressive stand, excellent infrastructure, initiatives taken to improve governance, investor friendly climate and art and culture of Punjab.
He said that the events are being planned to reach out to a larger audience and provide a common platform to think-tanks, academia, industrialists and government officials to analyse and suggest avenues for Gujarat to take leadership roles especially in the field of innovation and sustainability.
The biennial summit had brought in excess of Rs 20 lakh crore investments in 2011. The Vibrant Gujarat Summit has become an example of visionary approach of the State Government for investment promotion and advancement of economic and social development for many states.
In the run up to the Vibrant Gujarat 2013 Summit, a number of events in the form of seminars, conventions, panel discussions, lecture series, exhibitions, regional meets and other innovative forums for discussions, brainstorming sessions and interactions.
The Vibrant Gujarat 2013 Summit is going to be transformational and revolutionary – both in its coverage and scale. It would provide a platform for various states of India and other countries to cooperate and explore attractive business opportunities.
