Minister in charge, SHG & SE Department, Govt Of West Bengal sponsors 100 students of ATDC

Minister's visit at Special Sewing Machine Lab of ATDC- Kolkata.

Gurgaon, September 4, 2015: Shri Sadhan Pande Minister in charge, SHG & SE Department, Govt of West Bengal along with Mr Sadiq Uz Zamam, Deputy Director, SHG &SE, Govt of West Bengal and General Manager of Society for self employed of unemployed youth (SSEUY), West Bengal and other government officials and dignitaries paid an official visit at Apparel Training & Design Centre, Kolkata. The dignitaries were welcomed by Shri Amitava Roy, State Coordinator along with, Superintendent, ATDC- Kolkata & Shri Ranjan Dasgupta, Additional Director AEPC- Kolkata.
 
The minister visited the Cad Lab, General Sewing Machine Lab, Special Machine Lab, Textile Lab, etc. During his visit he interacted with the trainees. After completion of his visit, he chaired a brief discussion with the officials of ATDC & AEPC Kolkata. In his discussion he has enquired about the various training programme viz., short term courses, long term AVI courses and B. Voc. Degree courses. The minister has deeply praised ATDC, Kolkata for the infrastructure available, campus area and the training opportunity for ISDS under MOT, GOI, DGE& T etc.
 
Shri Sadhan Pande, Minister in charge, SHG & SE Department, Govt of West Bengal said  “ I am highly impressed with the quality of training ATDC  imparting for conducting skill  development training programme for the unemployed youth of West Bengal with such good post- training industrial placement benefits in Kolkata and other industries in India ‘’. At his concluding speech, the Hon’ble Minister has proposed to sponsor another 100 nos. of youths in 3 to 4 batches from his dept. for 1 year diploma programme at ATDC, Kolkata.
 
About the occasion Sri Hari Kapoor, VC, ATDC said “ATDC Kolkata is doing great job by providing good quality training & placement support which will enhance expertise of a person which in turn would improve overall growth of the industry.”
 
 “ATDC can help bridge the skill gap by working with government to understand the imperatives of government funding and provide linkages, awareness and placement for both wage employment and self-employment”, Dr. Darlie Koshy, DG & CEO ATDC & IAM responded to the Government initiatives.
 
Hear it from Sh. Amitava Roy, State Coordinator; ATDC Kolkata said “The Government has extended all possible help to ATDC to enhance the operations to reach the rural youth and women.  The presence of ATDC on Pan India ensures proper interaction between the Institutes and the industry and a mutual growth is ensured”.
