HIMACHAL: Action taken against erring shopkeepers

Shimla, August 28, 2015; The Food and Civil Supplies Department is keeping a close vigil on hoarding and profiteering of essential commodities in the State and regular inspections are being conducted to take action against the defaulters.

Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Shri Priyatu Mandal today revealed that the department conducted Statewide 1159 inspections under a special campaign on 27th August, 2015 under which the officers and inspectors of the department confiscated 198 domestic LPG cylinders being used commercially. Besides action was also taken against the shopkeepers who had not displayed the rate lists in their shops and failed to produce purchasing and selling vouchers as per the Act.

He advised the shopkeepers to display rate lists and not to involve in profiteering and hoardings of goods adding that the Department would continue with surprise inspections in the future as well.
