Partners with IVY Hospital and Cipla Ltd for Free Health Check-Up Camp in Chandigarh
Chandigarh, August 25, 2015: Continuing with its ‘Public Wellness Month’ initiative in the tricity, Vodafone Punjab Circle organised a ‘Free Health Check-Up Camp’ for residents of Chandigarh at Math Mandir- Radha Krishna Dham, Sec 20, Chandigarh, partnering with IVY Hospital, Mohali and Cipla Ltd for the initiative . At the camp held yesterday evening, more than 300 patients were examined for free by the visiting doctors and experts from IVY Hospital and Cipla Ltd.
Speaking on the initiative, Pushpinder S Gujral, Business Head- Punjab, HP and J&K, Vodafone India, said, “As a people-centric organisation, Vodafone India is at the forefront of undertaking initiatives which contribute to the betterment of the society. At Vodafone, we have a comprehensive Health, Safety and Wellness (HSW) policy in place which ensures that all our employees rate high on these parameters and we try our best to extend it to our customers as well. The free health check-up camp is an endeavour to help people get proper diagnosis and guidance from expert doctors and in the process make them aware about the importance of regular medical check-ups.”
At the camp, doctors and representatives from IVY Hospital, Mohali and Cipla Ltd were invited to provide medical consultation to people. The free camp, conducted from 6pm to 8pm, witnessed a turnout of over 300 people who were checked on various parameters as part of a general check-up. Further, they were given free counsel on specific ailments or concerns which they shared with the doctors. The doctors also emphasised upon the importance of regular health check-ups and shared tips on how to stay fit and healthy.
A team of doctors from IVY Hospital comprising Dr Sachin Verma (Internal Medicine), Dr Ankur Ahuja (Cardiology) and Dr Ankush Randhawa (Physiotherapy) along with two staff nurses conducted the camp held today. Representatives from Cipla Ltd conductedPFT (Pulmonary function test) for lungs and the BMD (Bone Marrow Density) test for visitors at the camp.
The people present at the camp appreciated this initiative as this free health check-up camp gave them an opportunity to discuss their health related concerns and receive expert guidance from best of the doctors in the region.
Earlier this month, on August 12, Vodafone had organised a similar camp for Mohali residents at Gurudwara Amb Sahib, Mohali as part of the ‘Public Wellness Month’ initiative. Other than the camp organised yesterday evening and the one held at Mohali earlier this month, Vodafone will be organising one more Free Health Check-Up Camp at Panchkula, to round off its ‘Public Wellness Month’ initiative for residents of the tricity.
