Shimla, August 3, 2015: Irrigation and Public Health Minister Smt.Vidya Stokes said that the State Government had not only fulfilled the promises made by the Congress Party in its Election Manifesto but had gone miles ahead in achieving new heights of development. She said the State Government had implemented various schemes to benefit various sections of the society.
Smt. Stokes stated this while presiding over the meeting of Cabinet Sub Committee constituted for implementation of election manifesto of the Congress Party. Industries Minister Shri Mukesh Agnihotri was also present in the meeting.
She said around 3.50 lakh people were getting social security pension in the State which was higher as compared to other States of the country. The State Government enhanced the social security pension during last two and half years and now they were being given Rs. 550 per month whereas the pensioners having more than 70 percent disability were getting Rs. 750 and the person aged above 80 years were being provided Rs.1100 per month.
The Minister said the financial assistance under Rajiv Awas Yojna had been enhanced from Rs. 48500 to Rs. 75000 and Rs. 25000 were being given for house repair to each family. She said various welfare schemes were being implemented for women and girl child and various welfare boards had been constituted to give due representation to the vulnerable sections of the society.
Smt. Stokes said efforts were on to strengthen the Panchayati Raj institutions and the process to appoint 345 Panchayat Sahayaks was in progress. She said each Panchayat would be provided with broadband internet facility to make the Panchayat data online.
Chief Secretary Shri P. Mitra, Additional Chief Secretaries Dr. Shrikant Baldi and Shri Sanjeev Gupta, Secretary Social Justice and Empowerment Smt. Anuradha Thakur, Secretary Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Shri Onkar Sharma and other senior officers of the State Government attended the meeting.
