Bone Densitometry Camp being organised by Air Force.
Jalandhar, July 23, 2015: Air force station Amritsar cantt organized a Free Bone densitometry Test at Station Medicare Centre in collaboration with lebon pharmaceuticals on 23th Jul 15. The camp was inaugurated by Mrs Komal Singh president AFWWA(L) accompanied by Group Captain Ran Singh Station commander AF Station, Amritsar Cantt.
One of the best way to determine if your body is losing bone mass is with a bone mineral density test. If your bone density is found to be low, you and your doctor can work together on treatment plan to help prevent fractures before they occur. The objective of a bone density scan is to identify your risk for bone loss and therefore your risk for future bone fracture. If your osteoporosis risk screening finds you are at mild/moderate or high risk, your physician may recommend dietary and lifestyle changes, schedule a BMD test, or even prescribe a drug therapy to increase your bone density.
It was dedicated effort of Squadron Leader(Dr) Harshpreet, Senior Medical Officer and his team where Around 120 Patients were screened in the camp for osteoporosis, osteopenia, osteoarthritis and other related disease with bones like pain in the hip, arm , wrist, low back pain, neck pain etc.
