Shimla, July 18, 2015: Irrigation and Public Health Minister Smt Vidya Stokes has directed the Shimla district administration and other concerned departments to restore the roads, water and power supply schemes which were damaged due to heavy rains in the past few days.
Smt. Stokes said district administration, public works, irrigation and public health and electricity departments had been directed to restore the damaged roads and other projects on war-footings so that people did not have to face any inconvenience. She said as the apple season was about to ensue, directions had been given to public works department to maintain and restore all major and link roads in the district.
The Minister said that keeping in view the possibilities of heavy rains in coming days, the district administration had been asked to remain vigilant and deploying adequate men and machinery to keep all roads clear for traffic.
