Ferozepur, April 17, 2013: The inefficiency on the part of Punjab Government clearly speaks from the fact that a person died in policy custody on 21st August, 1990 has been paid the compensation amount after 13 years that too after the intervention of the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi.
A cheque amount to Rs.1,75,000 in form of 50:50 cheque and five years bank fixed deposit of Rs.87,500 each, was given to Sukho, wife of Hardip Singh alias Gurdip Sihgh so of Joginder Singh of village Muthian Wala also known as Kamal Wala, by Sonali Giri, ADC (General).
She said that Hardip Singh died in police custody on 21st August, 1990 at Phatak Sarawan Wala Tehsil near Patti, whose wife had been given the compensation amount as per the orders of National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi.
