Chandigarh, June 26, 2015: Haryana Police succeeded in nabbing a most wanted criminal of several cases of motorcycle theft on the intervening night of June 25 and 26 from Gurgaon. The police has recovered a country made pistol, a belt having 10 live cartridges, a master key and a motorcycle from his possession.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that Haryana Police has earlier announced a reward of Rs one lakh and Rajasthan Police Rs five thousand for providing information on him. The accused had been identified as Ayub, a native of village Sahsaan, district Bharatpur in Rajasthan. He said that during checking of vehicles near crown plaza, two youth riding on motorcycle started firing when they were asked to stop. Police also fired gunshots in self defence. Out of the two bikers, one managed to escape taking advantage of darkness and other was nabbed.
On interrogation, Ayub confessed stealing hundreds of motorcycles from various places which he sold in Rajasthan with his companion Sonu, a resident of Rajashtan. He admitted that he committed all crimes in connivance with Sonu and often visits Gurgaon twice in a week to steal bikes. They used to steal 4-5 bikes in an attempt and took the vehicles to their village Sahsaan in Rajasthan.
They were involved in different offences of theft reported from the areas of DLF phase 1, 2 and 3, Shushant Lok, HUDA city centre, old Gurgaon etc. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
