Chandigarh, June 15, 2015: BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh has called the people of the country to come forward and extend full support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign. He has also called BJP activists to spread the word to make it a mass movement for the good of the girl child and the society.
Chugh was addressing a joint state-level workshop of Bharatiya Janata Party Haryana and Chandigarh units at Kisan Bhawan Panchkula.
The workshop was presided over by BJP's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign's national convener Dr. Rajendera Phadke.
Chugh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign from Panipat in Haryana and announcing renowned Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit as its brand ambassador had given a call to the people of the country to work for a better tomorrow for the girl child.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Phadke said that it was unfortunate that even today evils like Sati, female foeticide and discrimination towards the girl child were prevalent in different parts of the country.
Dr Phadke called on the BJP activists to work for ending the discrimination between the male and female child with the help of NGOs, religious organistations, intelligentia, heads of educational institutions, artists and other meaninful people to spread the Prime Minister's vision of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' in urban and rural areas so as to make it a national movement for the good of the society.
Subhash Barala, the president of Haryana unit and chandigarh state president sanjay tandon of BJP, in there address said that it was the duty of each and every member of the BJP to spread the program initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the able guidance of party president Amit Shah.
Those present included Haryana minister Kavita Jain, Suresh Bhatt, Yogender Malik, raghubir ji and Rajiv Jain.
