Chandigarh, May 26, 2015: A state level function would be organised at Karnal on the occasion of International Yoga Day on June 21. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal would be the Chief Guest on this occasion and about 21,000 yoga trainees would participate in it.
This was informed jointly by Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Mr Ram Niwas and Additional Chief Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. K.K. Khandelwal while interacting with media persons after giving directions to all Deputy Commissioner regarding this function through video conferencing here today.
Mr. Ram Niwas said that rehearsal for this function would be held on June 19. He said that the preparations and training for this function is being supervised by Patanjali Yogpeeth. He said that this training programme would be free of cost and anyone can participate in it.
He said that T-Shirts bearing Yoga logo would be provided by the Government to all people present on this occasion. He said that the Central Government has prepared a Capsule Programme of 35 minutes for this State Level Function. He said that training would be started only after registering names of interested people. He said that only 2100 people would be provided training in a district.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khandelwal said that the State level and district level programmes are being organized by AYUSH Department and in which Sports Department and Patanjali Yogpeeth are extending their help. He said that this is a joint effort to promote yoga for which Government, voluntary organizations and society would have to prepare yoga friendly atmosphere so that people could adopt yoga into their lifestyle.
He said that those who want to participate in this training programme could get themselves registered with District Sports Officer, District Ayurveda Officer, District Education Officer or with District Information and Public Relations Officer. These officers would handover the list of registered persons to the nodal officer nominated by Deputy Commissioner so that 2100 people could be selected for training programme. He said that the training programme would continue for three days. He said that people are expected to wear white clothes on this day so as to prepare an atmosphere for yoga.
Giving further information, Dr. Jagdeep Arya of Patanjali Yogpeeth said that training of district employees’ alongwith all Cabinet Ministers and Members of Parliament would be organized at Panchkula.
