Chandigarh, May 22, 2015: Haryana has a very rich culture and glorious past that goes back to Vedic times and there is a need to preserve this culture for future generations.
Haryana Governor, who is also the Chancellor of Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki said this while releasing the Brochure of Haryana Dharohar Museum of Kurukshetra University at Haryana Raj Bhawan.
He said that in the fast changing world dominated by globalization and industrialization, it has become imperative that we sensitize our youth with our past culture, traditions and heritage. Dharohar Museum at Kurukshetra University is doing this exemplary work of not only conserving Haryana’s folk heritage but also disseminating it to the entire world, said Solanki.
Vice Chancellor Kurukshetra University, Lt. Gen Dr. D.D.S. Sandhu, said that it is an honour for KU that more than 13 lakh visitors including delegates from 52 countries have seen Dharohar since its inception in 2006. Sandhu said that the Brochure will further enhance the visibility of Museum in the entire world.
Dr. Maha Singh Poonia, Curator Dharohar Museum informed that the 110 page Brochure gives detailed information, through colour pictures and narrative, about various sections of Dharohar phase I and phase II. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
