Chandigarh, May 19, 2015: The Hospital Administration of PGIMS, Rohtak has constituted a committee of doctors for enquiring the entire episode of death of Mrs Neelam, resident of Kharak Ramji in district Jind, during the course of entire treatment. The committee has been directed to submit their report within 48 hours.
Stating this today, a spokesman of PGIMS Rohtak said that the patient was admitted in Obstetrician and Gynecology department on May 14 with the diagnosis of pregnancy with ascites with anasarca with pleural effusion with jaundice. Provisional diagnosis of chronic liver and renal function disease with PHTN with HRS was made. Her liver function tests and renal function tests were deranged. She had preterm vaginal delivery of IUD baby on May 18 at 9.45 pm. immediately after delivery patient started gasping, despite CPR, patient could not be revived and declared dead at 10.30 pm on May 18, 2015.
He said that the patient and her relatives were briefed regarding the deceased conditions and its outcomes by the doctors from time to time. The patient expired on May 18 at 10.30 pm due to her medical condition. He said that as per the version of patient relative and doctor they were agreed to shift the dead body and had no grievance but during that process they had altercation with the security guard posted in labour room and they started alleging negligence on Hospital Administration. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
