New Delhi, May 18, 2015: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal, who visited Prithla assembly constituency in district Faridabad today, said that a barrage and a dam would be constructed on river Yamuna and the issue of not constructing a barrage on river Yamuna in the area despite an announcement made by the previous government in 2010 would be investigated. He said that Rs five crore would be provided to construct the dam.
The Chief Minister, who was addressing a largely attended public meeting at village Mohna in Prithla assembly constituency in district Faridabad, said that the visit of Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi to different countries has proved that as a result of his new thinking, India has succeeded in proving its might in the world. He said that by launching ambitious programmes like ‘Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao’, ‘Swatch Bharat Mission’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana’, ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’ and ‘Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana’, Mr Modi has initiated the beginning of a new era.
He said that apart from implementing the welfare programmes launched by the Prime Minister, the state government has been trying to provide a corruption-free administration in the state. Also, the facility of CM Window has been introduced in all districts. He said that the government is committed for protection of cows and working on many schemes which included giving distinct identity to Ghee made of cow’s milk. He said that efforts are being made to ensure uninterrupted supply of power round-the-clock provided the people cooperate in checking theft of power and pay arrears of their electricity bills. During first six months of the government, it has worked in double shift and has done more than what the previous government did in a year. The government has given Rs 1,092 crore as compensation to farmers whose crops were damaged due to recent rain and hailstorm.
While referring to the demands made by MLA Prithla, Mr Tek Chand Sharma, Mr Manohar Lal said that a government college would be set up in the area of Mohna. Forty villages of the area that are facing the problem of saline water would get water through Ranney wells. He said that two kms long Nala of Dayalpur Sarovar would be brick-lined. He said that after getting a survey conducted near village Sikrona, an ITI would be got constructed. The primary health centre at village Dudhola would be renovated.
Earlier on his arrival, the Chief Minister visited Gurdwara Sant Pura Patshahi Chevi, old Sarovar Nanaksar and paid his obeisance. Thereafter, he inaugurated a 33 KV substation constructed at a cost of Rs 2.62 crore at village Atali. Also, he laid the foundation stone of a Rs 60 lakh Kissan Vishram Greh at Anaj Mandi complex in village Mohna. The Chief Minister also inaugurated a Rs 40.20 crore Railway over Bridge constructed on bypass road near Sector 59-61 in Faridabad by Haryana Urban Development Authority.
The MLA Prithla, Mr Tek Chand Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister and presented a charter of demands. He said that he was confident that Chief Minister would further accelerate the pace of development in the constituency.
