Chandigarh, May 15, 2015: The National Foundation for Communal Harmony (NFCH) has invited nominations to confer two National Communal Harmony Awards instituted by it in the categories of an “individual” and “organization” in recognition of their outstanding contribution for promotion of communal harmony and national integration.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Haryana Government said that while the award of individual category carries Rs. five lakh in cash and a citation, that of organization category carries Rs. ten lakh in cash and a citation. The jury headed by Vice President of India makes selection to confer the awards.
He said that these awards would be conferred for the year 2015. A written communication to this effect has been sent to all heads of departments, Divisional Commissioners, Secretary, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, all Deputy Commissioners, Sub Divisional Officers (Civil) and Registrars of Government Universities in the State to forward their well considered recommendations of eligible individuals and organizations to the Secretary, NFCH by June 30, 2015.
He said that NFCH is an autonomous organization with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and it undertakes a number of activities for promotion of communal harmony, fraternity and national integration. It also provides assistance for effective rehabilitation of those children who are victims of communal, caste, ethnic and terrorist violence. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
