Dharamsala, April 11, 2013: The Gorkha community of Himachal is no mood to patch up with BJP leader Ravinder Ravi, ex-minister of Himachal for his unfriendly remarks about community in assembly.
Gorkha leaders of Punjab and Himachal and the leaders of Gorkha Vikas Parishad met in Dharamsala on Thursday and decided to intensify the agitation against BJP MLA if not apologise publically.
Bhupender Singh, President of Himachal/Punjab Gorkha Association said, “If Ravi will not apologise within a week, we shall launch nationwide agitation.”
Gorkha Community earlier on April 8 had burnt effigy of Ravi in Dharamsala, after his derogatory remarks suggesting to deploy Gorkha Regiments and Nagas to reduce monkey population in Himachal Pradesh. Later, Ravinder Ravi took away his words from the Assembly proceedings, but did not render the apology.
