Chandigarh, May 12, 2015: Wheat arrival in Haryana has reached 65,75,119 metric tonnes upto May 11 during current Rabi season. Out of total arrival, 65,74,697 metric tonnes of crop has been procured by government procuring agencies on Minimum Support Price and remaining 422 metric tonnes has been procured by the traders.
While giving this information today, a spokesman of Haryana Food and Supplies Department said that over 19.52 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had been procured by the Food and Supplies Department, over 28.65 lakh metric tonnes by Hafed, over 6.76 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Agro, more than 10.73 lakh metric tonnes by Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 5,800 metric tonnes of wheat was purchased by Confed.
He said that so far district Sirsa was leading in wheat arrival where over 10.02 lakh metric tonnes of wheat had arrived in the mandis, followed by district Karnal with over 6.73 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. Similarly, district Fatehabad had recorded an arrival of over 6.52 lakh metric tonnes, district Jind had recorded an arrival of over 5.97 lakh metric tonnes, district Kaithal had recorded an arrival of over 5.90 lakh metric tonnes, district Hisar over 4.80 lakh metric tonnes, district Kurukshetra over 4.68 lakh metric tonnes, district Sonepat over 3.50 lakh metric tonnes, district Bhiwani over 2.65 lakh metric tonnes, district Panipat over 2.45 lakh metric tonnes, district Ambala over 2.27 lakh metric tonnes, district Yamunanagar over 2.32 lakh metric tonnes, district Rohtak over 1.92 lakh metric tonnes, district Palwal over 1.77 lakh metric tonnes, district Jhajjar over 1.21 lakh metric tonnes, district Faridabad over 77,848 metric tonnes, district Mewat 64,760 metric tonnes, district Gurgaon 47,170 metric tonnes, district Narnaul 40,309 metric tonnes, district Rewari 36,766 metric tonnes and district Panchkula 29,664 metric tonnes. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
