Chandigarh, May 11, 2015: Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has declared a reward of Rs 50,000 each for information leading to arrest of Sub-Inspector Suraj Mal and Sub-Inspector Jai Pal.
While stating this today, a spokesman of the Bureau said that the fugitive SI Suraj Mal, Incharge, Police Post, Gurnanakpura district Fatehabad was wanted in a case of Prevention of Corruption Act registered at Bureau’s Police Station, Hisar in the month of January, 2015. He said that SI Suraj Mal had demanded Rs 1.50 lakh from Mange Ram who had been threatened by Gurmej Kaur, Malkiat Singh and Gurjinder Singh with implication in a false rape case. While these three culprits were arrested by Vigilance Team, SI Suraj Mal had absconded before he could be arrested. The Court has declared him a Proclaimed Offender after a warrant for his arrest remained unserved and in view to secure his arrest, the Bureau has declared a reward, he added.
In another case, State Vigilance Bureau has declared a reward for arrest of SI Jai Pal Incharge, CIA staff, Yamunanagar. In this case, ASI Ashok Kumar, Yamunanager was arrested at Hisar while extorting Rs. 20 lakhs from Rajesh Kumar in February 2015. The interrogation of ASI Ashok Kumar revealed that the money had been taken on behalf of SI Jai Pal. As SI Jai Pal is and warrant issued by Court for his arrest remained unserved, the Bureau has declared a reward to any person giving information leading to his arrest, he added. / (SK Vyas)
