Jalandhar, April 10, 2013: The Special Judge, CBI, Guwahati (Assam) has convicted A.K. Bora, the then Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, N.F. Railway, Guwahati and sentenced him to undergo three years Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 3,000 in a case relating to recruitment of 165 candidates for the post of Junior Accounts Assistants in Railway.
The CBI investigation revealed that Shri A.K. Bora while posted and functioning as Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board, N. F. Railway, Guwahati during the year 1997-98 had abused his official position omitting the names of successful candidates for the post of Junior Accounts Assistants in N.F. Railway and as against them included the names of unsuccessful candidates. Thus he showed undue favour to unsuccessful candidates for some ulterior motives for which CBI after conducting investigation, filed Chargesheet on November 30, 2004 in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Guwahati (Assam).
The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted him.
