Chandigarh, April 24: As many as 300 Phulkari women workers attended a free multispecialty health camp at Nishulk Vidyala, Jagatpura village near here today. The camp was organized by Max India Foundation (MIF), the corporate social responsibility wing of Max India Group, in association with Max Super Specialty Hospital (MSSH) , Mohali and an NGO Enactus to mark World Malaria Day .
A MSSH team of Dr Harpreet Kapoor from Ophthalmology, Dr Manpreet Virdi from Gynecology, Dr Prabjeet Kaur from Pediatrics and Dr. Vinod Sachdeva from Internal Medicine consulted the workers in camp . MIF also distributed free medicines besides offering free bp, blood sugar and eye tests.
Speaking during occasion, Mohini Daljeet Singh, Chief Executive, MIF said that in line with the Max Group philosophy of ‘seva-bhav’, we have taken up the initiative to provide free consultation and medicines to the people at the camp.
At camp, Dr. Vinod Sachdeva educated the workers on how to keep the surroundings free from stagnant water and mosquitoes so that their children could be safe from Malaria. To check malaria, he advised to keep the children away from places where malaria mosquitoes would breed easily. One should maintain proper levels of hygiene inside and outside the house and make sure that any waste or garbage was well covered and disposed off as per daily cleaning routine to avoid any breeding of mosquitoes.”
Dr Prabjeet Kaur educated workers on importance of Immunization. Vaccines were essential and an important tool in maintaining good health, she asserted.
