Top Leaders Come Together Under One Roof To Discuss Issues Of National Interest
Chandigarh, April 22, 2015: The Ninth Mindmine Summit, an annual forum hosted by the USD five-billion Hero Group, commenced in the capital today.Minister of Road Transport and Highways & Shipping, Nitin Gadkari, inaugurated the high powered Summit in the presence of Sunil Kant Munjal, Joint Managing Director, Hero Moto Corp Ltd. and Chairman, Hero Corporate Service Ltd. This year’s theme is ‘2015 to 2025 – India Decade?’
Sanjaya Baru, Director, Geo-economics and Strategy, International Institute of Strategic Studies; Ravi Uppal, CEO, Jindal Steel & Power; and Amit Chandra, Managing Director, Bain Capital, shared their perspectives with those who gathered for the inaugural session. The session was moderated by Shweta Rajpal Kohli, Group Business Editor, NDTV.
The two day summit will be attended byeminent newsmakers from diverse fields including governance, the political arena, media, e-commerce, fashion, civil society, social enterprises, arts, sports and several others with a keenness to assess the evolving political, business and societal landscape through interactive panel dialogues, one-on-one exchanges and debates.
Taking to the dais after the inauguration, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways & Shipping, said, “Availability of funds is not a constraint for infrastructure development, and I am optimistic about overcoming other hurdles to attain desired levels of growth."
On balanced development he added, "Not just the industry but the agricultural sector must grow. The thrust is on generating more investments, and jobs, for rural India. Only then can India's economy grow holistically."

The previous edition of the summit (India: Economics or Politics?) looked at a nation mired in low growth, fragmented politics and policy stasis. This year’s edition will evaluate India’s new eco-political atmosphere and emerging social arithmetic; and how it can help the country evolve over the next 10 years.
