Ludhiana, April 18, 2015:  Terming the 3-nation tour of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as highly successful, BJP national Secretary Tarun Chugh today said that Modi's visit to a temple and a gurdwara in Canada on the last leg of his tour has conveyed a very positive message and enhanced the honour of Indians and especially Punjabis living abroad.
The Prime Minister has always held that his government would be working on the concept of 'One India One Nation' and by going to the religious places of both the dominant Indian communities residing in Canada, he has given a clear signal that he respects and cares for each and every religion and community.
It was also important that the Sikh community welcomed the Prime Minister in Canada and during his visit to the Gurdwara in Vancouver.  It has displayed a deep sense of bonding between a prime minister and people from his country residing in Canada.
This would definitely enhance the image and respect of the people from India in the minds and hearts of people of Canada and the authorities there.  The gesture of the prime minister would also ease some of the problems faced by Indians in a foreign land.  As Prime Minister has opened a channel with the country men living there, it would be far more easy for them to get their problems resolved with the intervention of the PMO.
Prime Minister's way of reaching out to the people and interacting with them has ushered in a new era as the gap between the Prime Minister and the people from this country is being bridged at a much faster pace. This is for the first time that a prime minister studies and gets to know about the problems faced by NRIS and visits and interacts with them making some of the most relevant and required announcements overdue for quite some time.
NRIs living across the globe have now found a new friend in the Prime Minister and his 'friendly attitude' and 'do it right now' approach sends a signal to all the diplomats that they must be forthcoming and ever ready to help each and every Indian who requires any kind of assistance there, he said.
