Chandigarh, April 3, 2015: Haryana Public Works (Building and Roads) Minister, Rao Narbir Singh has expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for giving approval to widening and strengthening of 31 number roads at a cost of Rs.353.60 crore and to three projects costing Rs 779 crore to do away with traffic problem in Gurgaon.
In a statement issued here today, Rao Narbir Singh said that the Chief Minister has given a special approval of Rs 1132.60 crore for all projects. He said that he had already given this statement in the Vidhan Sabha that roads of the state would be transformed. Now, this work would be carried out under special campaign at war foot, he added.
The Minister said that principle approval has been given to three different integrated schemes amounting to Rs 779 crore for improving the existing traffic congestion at Rajiv Chowk, Signature Tower and IFFCO Chowk Junction of Gurgaon. Under this, a sum of Rs 224 crore would be spent on Rajiv Chowk, Rs 248 crore on Signature Tower and Rs 307 crore on IFFCO Chowk and traffic junctions will be redeveloped with new ways at these chowks. With the approval of the Chief Minister, these schemes have been made to provide solution to traffic problem for next 20 years. The work on these schemes would be completed in two years, he added.
