Chandigarh, April 3, 2015: Haryana Government has decided to organise a three-day State Level Training Programme for Maters Trainers at Chandigarh from April 8 to April 10, to ensure effective implementation of the ambitious Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Programme,
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Women and Child Development Department said that the training programme will be organized by Women and Child Development Department, Haryana in collaboration with National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development, New Delhi.
All functionaries of Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) and all stakeholders including State Master Trainers of Education field, Law, Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), ICDS, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) and Middle Level Training Centre(MLTC), Indian Medical Association (IMA) – State Chapter Medical Professional, Ultrasound Manufacturers, Judiciary and Police, State Level Legal Authority, District Magistrates, School and College teachers, Corporate Sector and Media would participate in the training programme.
He said that BBBP Scheme, being jointly implemented by Education, Health and Women and Child Development Department, is aimed to prevent gender biased sex selective elimination and for ensuring survival, education and participation of girl child.
While giving details of the training programme, he said that on April 8, the Director, National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) Dr Dinesh Paul would address the introductory session about District Magistrates’ Guidelines from 9:30 am to 11 am. He would also address a session on the Status of Girl Child in Haryana (Health and Nutrition for Girl Child from 11:15 am to 1 pm.
He said that while the training session on Gender Mainstreaming-Understanding Gender would be addressed by Meenakshi Jha from 2 pm to 2:30 pm, session on Laws Related to Marriage and Adoption – PCMA, 2006 would be addressed by Dr. Tejinder Kaur from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. Dr Tejinder Kaur would also address sessions on Laws related to Safety and Gender Based Violence-Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (PWDVA), 2006 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm and Constitutional Provisions and Child Rights and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO)-2012 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. An open floor discussions would be held from 5:30 to 6:00 pm, he added.
The spokesman said that similarly, on the second day of training programme on April 9, a session on introduction to The Pre-conception and Pre-natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act (PCPNDT Act), 1994 – An Introduction would be addressed by Health Ministry Resource Person from 9:30 am to 11 am. Thereafter, session on State Specific Schemes and Programmes of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) Supporting Girls and Women would be jointly addressed by Mrs Meenakshi Jha and Ms Rohini Saran from 11 am to 12 pm. A session on State Specific Schemes and Programmes of Women and Child Development (WCD) Supporting Girls and Women would be organized by Women Child Development Department, Haryana from 12 noon to 1 pm, he further added. He said that on the same day, Sunisha Ahuja would address sessions on Right to Education Act, 2009 Educating the Girl Child including issues and challenges from 2 pm to 3 pm and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan from 3 pm to 4 pm. A session on Right to Information Act – 2005 would be addressed by Meenakshi from 4 pm to 5 pm.
He said that on the third day on April 10, a session on topic Need and Importance of Community Participation and Community Mobilization – Convergence to improve CSR would be addressed jointly by Rohini Saran and Meenakshi Jha from 9:30 am to 11 am whereas session on Advocacy for Social and Behaviour Change – Improving CSR and Education of Girl Child – Planning an Advocacy Campaign and Group Presentation and Role of Media would be addressed by Meenakshi. He said that thereafter, a session on Vikaspedia – An overview would be held from 2 pm to 3:30 pm and Feedback and Evaluation from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
