New Delhi, March 16, 2015: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Area Manager and an Assistant(Grade-I), both working in Food Corporation of India, Nabha (Punjab) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant.
A case was registered U/s 120-B of IPC and section 7 of PC Act, 1988 on a complaint wherein it was alleged that 70 trucks/consignments of rice of the complainant (A rice miller) were to be checked and stacked at CWC, FCI Depot, Nabha. An Area Manager of FCI, Nabha was allegedly demanding bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant for getting his rice checked/stacked in the Depot. CBI laid a trap, wherein the Area Manager and Assistant(Grade-I) were caught while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs.50,000 from the complainant. Searches have been conducted at the residential premises of the accused.
Both the arrested accused will be produced tomorrow in the Competent Court at Patiala(Punjab). / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
