Chandigarh, March 8, 2015: Over 1 lac farmers will learn the agriculture production techniques, input, direct marketing and other intricacies at Agri Leadership Summit 2015 being held at Laser Valley in Gurgaon from March 13 to March 15.
Detailing here today, the Minister for Agriculture, Development & Panchayats, Irrigation, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Fisheries, Government of Haryana, Om Prakash Dhankar stated that while CM Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar will inaugurate the Summit, the Union Minister for Road and Surface Transport, Government of India, Nitin Gadkari will be special guest at the event. The Minister of State for Defence, Government of India, Rao Inderjit Singh would preside over the function. Dhankar himself, Cooperative Development Minister Vikram Yadav, PWD Minister Haryana Rao Narvir Singh, national secretary BJP Sudha Yadav, MLA and state chairman BJP Haryana Subhash Barala, MLA and chairnan Kisan Morcha Mahipal Dhanda, Umesh Aggarwal, Tejpal and local MLA Vimla Chaudhary would also be present.
More than 20000 farmers would partner in promoting agriculture production techniques, induction of new farmer-friendly technology, food processing and other such unique initiatives at the Summit through seminars and debates.
Dhankar said that the Summit aimed at keeping spotlight on production and the producer. The event would have discussions of Diversification and Sustainability in Agriculture, Opportunities in Horticulture – Farmers Initiatives and Successful Business Models, Organic Farming & Soil Health Management, Precision Farming, Water Resource Management & Micro Irrigation, Organic farming, certification and processing, Post Harvest & Cool chain Management, Agri-Business Management, Micro Financing, Integrated Dairy Farming, Gausamvardhan and importance of A-2 milk, Poultry Farm in Haryana. Besides these, the feed & fodder, development on wasteland resources i.e. saline/ waterlogged for shrimp and fish culture, development on value added ornamental fish would also be discussed.
Business houses dealing processing of horticulture products, fruit, milk production, fishery etc have also been especially invited to share their experiences and benefit the farmers.
On second day of Summit on March 14, the milk producers have especially been invited. The chief guest of event would be Union Minister for Rural Development, Chaudhary Birendra Singh, special guest Minister of State for Agriculture, Government of India Chaudhary Sanjeev Balyan, Dhankar himself and Haryana Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development Vikram Yadav would be among the panelists.
Dhankar added that the main aim of Summit was to give recognition to the district, state and national level farmers for their excellent work. Similarly, it aimed at putting farmers directly in contact with the consumer and bringing farmers closer to the new farm technologies developed in labs.
On the concluding day on March 15, farmers would be felicitated and the chief guest would be Governor of Haryana Kaptan Singh Solanki, main guest would be Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers Anant Kumar and special guests would be Minister of State for Agriculture, Government of India Mohan Ji Bhai Kalyan Ji Bhai Kundariya and Minister of State for Social Justice, Government of India Krishan Pal Gurjar. Dhankar himself and Haryana Minister for Cooperative and Rural Development Vikram Yadav would also be present.
