New Delhi. March 5, 2015: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested three private persons for possession of alleged Fake Indian Currency Notes(FICNs) of Rs.4.91 crores (approx) at Etawah Railway Station (Uttar Pradesh).
A case was registered on 04.03.2015 U/s.120-B r/w 489B and 489C against two private persons, residents of Baishnab Nagar in Malda District of West Bengal & one private person, a resident of Auraiya (UP) and unknown others. CBI intercepted three FICN Operatives who were traveling in Farakka Express & carrying huge quantity of FICN amounting to Rs.4,91,000/-(approx) and genuine currency amounting to Rs.93,390 for delivery of the same to another person, a resident of Auraiya at Etawah Railway Station. The FICN was allegedly being trafficked from New Farakha near Bangladesh border.
The arrested accused persons are being produced today in the competent court at Lucknow.
