Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday traveling in a metro from Central Secretariat, Delhi to Badarpur Station, Faridabad.
New Delhi, March 3, 2015: Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar said that after the completion of proposed metro projects, metro services would be extended in the state as per the need of the people of the state.
The Chief Minister said while traveling in a metro from Central Secretariat, Delhi to Badarpur Station, Faridabad today. He opted for travelling in a metro to save time and avoid traffic jams to reach Faridabad for a function.
Replying to a question of media persons while traveling in the metro, the Chief Minister said that this is not the first time when he has traveled in a metro. “I have been traveling in metro since the metro rail service started between Shahdara and Rithala and it would be better if we travel more by public transport system”, he added.
Khattar said that he was of the view that it is better to remain close to one’s roots and be among people. It would not be good in a democratic system for a public figure to remain distant from the people.
On being asked about cut in government expenditure, the Chief Minister said that excessive use of resources should be avoided and these should be optimally used as per need only.
Interacting with youth who travel everyday from NCR to Delhi, the Chief Minister said that metro would be extended from Faridabad to Ballabgarh and Gurgaon to Dharuhera via Sohna. The work of metro in Bahadurgarh is under progress and there is a planning to extent metro up to Kundli border.
About White Paper released by the Government, the Chief Minister said that the fact is Haryana is at 10th place in the country. He made it clear that White Paper was not released to criticise anyone, but our aim was to apprise the people about the actual economic condition of the state.
The White Paper has been released on the basis of facts and figures and reports which aims to understand the loopholes in the management of finances so that accurate schemes are drafted to strengthen the economy of the state, he added. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
