Hindu Speaks on AIB Knockout Controversy On eChunav.com

A special voting was organised by one of the leading online voting portal eChunav at Mecca 2015 in Hindu Collage. About 5000 students in 3 days voted on the question “ How do you Visualise the concept of AIB in India?".

New Delhi, February 2015, There may be a debate raging on whether the AIB Roast was derogatory or funny, the Indian youth is of the view that people need to be more open minded and consider the act featuring actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranbeer Singh as a form of entertainment.

With the start of the mega event Mecca 2015 in Hindu Collage, the voice of 21st Century resounds on AIB. Hindu Collage Students took the concept in a positive manner.

According to popular polling website, eChunav.com, 67 per cent youth believes that people need to be more open minded and see it just as a form of entertainment. Interestingly, 71 per cent of the women polled held the same view.

 Chavi, a Hindu Collage student, who was participating at the mega event Mecca 2015 in Hindu College where the poll was conducted, says the content of the show is not oblivious to today's youth.

"I guess people need to be a little more open minded. There is nothing that they (members of the show) talked about which is oblivious to us," she adds.

About 10 per cent respondents in fact supported the format saying it is an innovative way of raising donations and charity.

Hindu College student said the show was a welcome change and people need to broaden their horizon and understand that humour is a circle with infinite radius. However, about 14 per cent respondents also said the content should be available to adult audiences only.

Only 5 per cent people said the show is against Indian cultures and values.

The AIB Knockout was a comedy show featuring Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor, who got taken down a notch by All India Bakchod and some special guests live on stage with Karan Johar playing the Roast Master.

While actors like Aamir Khan have criticised the show, many including Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone have expressed their support on social media.

Commenting on the polls Malini Das product manager eChunav.com said “We feel the youth require social platforms like eChunav.com to cater to valuable opinions and make them count.
