Jalandhar, February 18, 2015: In an enthralling display of its culture, ethos & highlighting contribution of Punjab, Army organised a Motivation Seminar at Sant Baba Bhag Singh Edn Complex, Khaila on Wednesday. The event was organised by Vajra Corps for showcasing the Indian Army and for motivating the youth of Punjab encouraging them to join the folds of Indian Army. The event was attended by Faculty and students of Sant Baba Bhag Singh Edn Complex, Khaila. Lt Gen JS Dhillon, (Retd). The Director, Sant Baba Bhag Singh Edn complex welcomed Commander Beas Brigade & conveyed his gratitude to the Indian Army for providing students with an opportunity of getting an insight of what Indian Army has to offer to the youth of Punjab in case they choose Army as their career. Commander Beas Brigade addressed the gathering and highlighted the tradition of courage and valor that Officers and men hailing from Punjab have displayed over the years while serving with the Indian Army. He highlighted the contribution of today’s youth in Punjab. He complimented their capabilities, dignity & passion for the Army, which only few could match.
Later, a team of Officers conducted proceedings of the even in form of series of highly informative presentations and talks, which enthralled the audience and students in particular. The audiences were given glimpse of life of an officer right from his/her selection into Army till post retirement life. The students were elated on learning about the adventurous and exciting life that Indian Army has to offer. Students were also informed about various selection procedures that are followed during selection of an officer into various arms and services of the Army, Air Force and Indian Navy including an insight into the various illustrious training institutions available in the country for training of an officer.
The presentations were followed by a weapon and equipment display in the premises of the Sant Baba Bhag Singh Edn Cmplex, Khaila. Various weapons used by the Indian Army were on display. A display by Indian Army Pipe and Jazz bands completely mesmerized the visitors. The event concluded with informal but informative interactions of students with the Army officers on various entry schemes & opportunities in the Armed Forces.
