Dharamsala, December 31, 2014: Public Distribution Depot holders in the Himachal shall get enhanced margin money for the distribution of subsidised food items from January 1. The Governor has released the notification for this three-fold increase.
Disclosing this on Wednesday at Dharamsala the Himachal Food Supply Minister G S Bali said, “Depot holders can now earn nearly Rs.5,700 per month, as against their earlier earning of Rs 3990 pm and the state government shall have to bear an extra burden of Rs12 crore per annum over this increase .”
Bali also informed that the government has decided to increase to 2,000 more PDS Depots before March next year, and these depots shall largely be allocated to women, widows, the disabled and ex servicemen category .
Transport Minister said that various bus stands and workshops across the state shall be renovated in the next year and a sum of Rs.70 crore has been released for the said propose.
Giving the details Bali said, “Rs10 crore has been sanctioned for bus stand of Chamba, whereas Rs5 crore each shall be spent for bus stands of Mandi, Hamirpur and Nagrota . Bus stands of Kullu Theog, Rohru, Rampur and Nahan shall be renovated with Rs 3 crore, Rs.4 crore on bus stands of Shimla, Chamunda and Dharamsala workshop.”
