Ferozepur, December 16, 2014: The Golden Arrow Division of the Indian Army today organised a special function at Ferozepur Cantonment today to felicitate the Veer Naris (War Widows) of neighbouring district of Ferozepur including Moga, Muktsar and Fazilka. Acknowledging the sacrifices made by the martyrs, the Veer Naris were respectfully escorted by Army Officials from far off villages.
The function was presided over by Rekha Meston, Chairperson Family Welfare Organisation, Golden Arrow Division. She expressed her gratitude to the brave ladies for the supreme sacrifice made by their husbands in the service of the nation. She said that the Army Assistance shall always be available for them and they can approach for Army assistance or any kind of held anytime without any hesitation.
Apart from the felicitation ceremony, a medical camp was also organised at the venue. On interaction with some of the Veer Naris, they expressed their gratitude to the Army for such an emotional and helpful event. The event was also marked with everybody singing the National anthem in one voice.
