CBI arrests an inspector of RPF and an official of SECL in separate cases of bribery

New Delhi, December 4, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Inspector of Railway Protection Force (RPF) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.5000 from the Complainant.
A case was registered against Inspector, RPF, Anakapalli Railway Station, Visakhapatnam alleging demand of bribe for Rs.5,000 from the Complainant. It was alleged that the Railway Authorities awarded the tender for maintaining the Railway Station parking stand at Anakapalli Railway Station and Visakhapatnam Railway Station in the name of the Complainant's brother. The Complainant was maintaining the Railway Station parking stand at Anakapalli Railway Station.
The alleged accused demanded an alleged bribe of Rs.5,000 for not booking any case against the complainant in respect of parking stand being maintained by him. CBI laid a trap and the Inspector of RPF was caught red handed while demanding & accepting the bribe of Rs.5,000 from the Complainant.
The arrested accused was produced before the Principal Special Judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam, who remanded him to judicial custody.
In another case, the CBI has arrested a Sub-Area Manager of South East Coal Fields Ltd (SECL), Bhatgaon, Disistrict Surajpur (Chhattisgarh) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.3600 from the Complainant.
A case was registeredUnder Sectoon 7 of PC Act, 1988 on the complaint of a private person alleging that the Sub-Area Manager, SECL, Bhatgaon Sub Area, Bhatgaon , District - Surajpur demanded illegal gratification @ 2% of bill amount from the complainant for passing his pending bill of Rs.1.8 lakh (approx). A trap was laid and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 3,600/- from the Complainant.
Searches were conducted at the residence and office of the accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
Further investigation in both cases is continuing.
