New Delhi, October 28, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against a private person and others U/s 143, 147,148,149, 307,302,324 IPC and Section 3 & 5 of Explosive Substance Act & 13(a) of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act relating to alleged murder of Thottathi Manoj of Kannur District (Kerala) on the request of Kerala Government and further Notification from the Government of India.
The allegation in brief as per the FIR is that at about 11.00 am on 01.09.2014 Thottathi Manoj, office bearer of an organisation in Kannur District along with another person were travelling in an Omni van, passing through Kathiroor road, and on reaching Ukkasmotta, a gang of workers of a political party allegedly lead by FIR named person armed with deadly weapons, bombs, inflicted injuries on the two and, thereafter, allegedly murdered T.Manoj and also attempted to murder the other person.
CBI took up the investigation of the case which was earlier registered at Kathiroor Police Station, Kannur District(Kerala).
