New Delhi, September 12, 2014: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has announced to give a financial assistance of Rs.10 crore for the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Hooda also flagged off seven trucks of relief material for the affected people from his New Delhi residence today. The relief material included 50,000 blankets, 10,000 nylon plastic sheets, medicines and food items.
Speaking on this occasion, Hooda said that such natural calamity had never been witnessed before in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana would extend all possible help to mitigate the suffering of the people of the state in their hour of need. Haryana Government and the people of the state are with the affected people of the Jammu and Kashmir in this hour of crisis, he assured.
The Chief Minister also lauded the efforts of Indian Army in the relief and rescue operations at Jammu and Kashmir. He said that in this hour of crisis, everyone should come forward and contribute in the relief and rescue operations. The State Government has also appointed Principal Secretary, Social Justice and Empowerment Department P K Das as the Nodal Officer of State for efficient handling of relief assistance.
