New Delhi, August 28, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case U/s 120-B, 420, 467, 468 & 471 of IPC against Kolkatta based private firm & their three then Directors; then Directors of another Kolkata based private firm; two other firms of Kolkata; a Chartered Accountant of Kolkata and unknown others for causing an alleged loss of Rs.139.05 crores (approx.) to Central Bank of India.
It was alleged that then Directors of Kolkata based private firm entered into a criminal conspiracy with then Directors of other firm & Chartered Accountant of Kolkata and availed credit facilities from Central Bank of India, Mid-Corporate Branch, Kolkata on the basis of false & forged documents and diverted the funds for the purpose other than for which the same was sanctioned. The accused allegedly cheated and defrauded the Central Bank of India to the tune of Rs.139.05 crores (approx.).
Searches were today conducted at 15 places in Kolkata and Durgapur (West Bengal) which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
The investigation is continuing.
