Varanasi, May 17 (IANS) BJP leader Narendra Modi, who is set to be the next prime minister, said this would be the first time in parliamentary history that the opposition will have to form an alliance.
"Earlier the government used to in coalition but this would be the first time that an opposition will have to form a coalition," he quipped, referring to the fact none of the opposition parties had enough numbers for their leaders to be recognised as leader of opposition.
Talking about himself, Modi said: "For the first time, the country has elected a PM who is born after Independence."
Modi was speaking at the Dashashwamedh Ghat where he offered prayer to the Ganges river, sacred for the Hindus.
