Kathmandu, May 5 (IANS) At least six people were killed and 24 injured Monday in a bus accident in eastern Nepal, local police said.
"The injured people are receiving treatment in a hospital," Pancha Man Waiba, a police officer, told Xinhua.
The accident took place when the driver lost control of the Chakmake-bound passenger bus from Kathmandu and the vehicle slipped off the road while making a sharp turn.
Police attributed the accident to speeding and careless driving.
This is the second fatal bus accident in a week, 19 people were killed and two dozen injured last week in a similar accident in western Nepal.
