New Delhi, March 28, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Deputy Manager (Civil), NTPC, Ramgundam, Karimnagar District(Andhra Pradesh) for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from the Complainant.
A case was registered on 27.03.2014 U/s 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 against Dy. Manager(Civil), TAD, NTPC, Ramgundam, Karimnagar District (Andhra Pradesh) for demanding an amount of Rs.50,000 for showing official favour in processing pending bill of Rs.13,91,364 submitted by the complainant. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 50,000/- from the Complainant.
The arrested accused is being produced today before the Designated Court.
In another case, the CBI has arrested an official of Accounts Branch, Chandigarh Housing Board, Chandigarh for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the Complainant.
A case was registered on a complaint alleging demand of bribe for Rs. 10,000 by a Clerk, Accounts Branch, Chandigarh Housing Board, Chandigarh for refunding the excess amount of Rs. 1 lakh which was paid by the complainant to Chandigarh Housing Board regarding transfer of ownership of his house at Chandigarh in his name. A trap was laid and the official was caught red handed while demanding & accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant. Searches, were conducted at the office & residential premises of accused.
Further investigation is in progress.
