Social activist Anna Hazare on Sunday pays homage to the martyrs Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev at the martyrs memorial at Hussainiwala, near Ferozepur.
Ferozepur, March 23, 2014: Social activist Anna Hazare today paid visit to Hussainiwala Memorial and observed one day fast to pay obeisance to legendry martyr Bhagat Singh and his companions Rajguru and Sukhdev.
Holding corrupt politicians responsible for present dismal political scenario, Anna said “though we attained freedom in 1947 after a long freedom struggle which started in 1857 but after attaining freedom, all the political parties lead India to nothing but corruption and chaos.”
Referring to the constitution of India, Anna said, “There is not a single line in our constitution which allows us to form parties. But due to their expediency, people formed political parties full of crooks and unethical elements”. He said even Gandhi had said, that Congress should be disintegrated, but he was denied.
He said “if we want true “Jantantra”, people will have to participate in the election system without being part of any political party.”
After being asked about Arvind Kejariwal and his political party AAP, Anna said since he has formed his own party, he has become a part of this corrupt system.
Anna Hazare later visited local DCM Senior Secondary School and interacted with the students. He also broke his fast by accepting juice from one of the students. While answering the questions of school kids Anna Hazare said kids are the future of county. He also guided them to abstain from drugs.
