Ludhiana, March 19, 2014: Minister for Information and Broadcasting and sitting Congress MP from Ludhiana Manish Tiwari is almost sure to contest from Ludhiana parliamentary seat, confirmed the party sources this morning.
Earlier, there were reports that he is unlikely to re-contest from Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat owing to ill-health. He had undergone various tests and treatment in a private hospital in Delhi for a few days. He was discharged from the hospital on Monday. The doctors who attended him had stated that Tewari was not in a position to put in long hours for campaigning, if contested.
The party men and people of this parliamentary constituency are now waiting for official declaration of his candidature from Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat by the Congress.
Therefore, all speculations in this regard are likely to be over within a day or so.
Interestingly, KK Bawa, former DCC (U), Ludhiana president, today circulated emails to local media stating “Breaking News: Manish Tewari ready to fight Lok Sabha election from Ludhiana”. It clearly indicates that the party men have received some specific information, resulting to which they are making such claims in the Media.
